Expiration Date (Original Soundtrack)
A poetic story about searching for an unexpired romance, a mélange of sexy fantasy and innocent love, Expiration Date is a short, poetic motion graphics video integrating 2D and 3D styles. The story follows a character thinking about his past and future romantic relationships. Using a tin can’s expiration date as a way to represent the sometimes fleeting duration of these encounters, audiences experience the difference between desire and love within the truth of an enduring relationship.
The film is set to a poem narrated by the director, accompanied by music that is at turns moody, reflective, upbeat, sad, calm, and ultimately optimistic. It features synthetic beds, setting the ambience, supporting acoustic solos on clarinet, piano, harp, and guitar. Outside of the dramatic elements, the score also includes a heavy-hitting, powerful and sexy EDM section, a first in that style for the composer.
