“Blaze of Glory” Recording in Belgrade, Serbia

Last week, Jerome traveled to Belgrade, Serbia, to record Pinar Toprak’s score for Blaze of Glory, an animated feature film set to be released later this year. The film, a tale about the origin of the Olympic Games, “tells the story of the Greek mythological hero Pelops and his adventure to save the Olympic torch.” The project, produced by Santoon Productions and endorsed by China’s Olympic committee is a multi-national collaboration by studios in China, United States, Poland and India.

Jerome has worked with composer Pinar Toprak twice before, on Say It In Russian and Order of Redemption. On this new project, Jerome flew to Belgrade to conduct the Belgrade Film Orchestra, a 60-piece symphonic ensemble. The 50-minute score required ten hours of recording (pictures available in the Gallery).

Two Film Scores Orchestrations Completed: “Order of Redemption” and “Queen Libussa”

Jerome recently finished working on two flm scores orchestrations: Order of Redemption, for composer Pinar Toprak, and Queen Libussa, for composer Benedikt Brydern.

Order of Redemption is a “dramatic tale of corruption and self-realization, in which one man has to overcome a deep seeded conspiracy and his own lingering past in order to gain the redemption he desires.” The film stars Tom Berenger and Busta Rhymes and is set to be released in 2008. This is the second time Jerome orchestrate a score by Pinar Toprak; they previously worked together on Say It In Russian. As for that previous project, the score for Order of Redemption was recorded in Belgrade, with the Belgrade Film Orchestra.

Queen Libussa is “a historic drama with fantasy elements based on the love story between Libuse, the Slavic mythological heroine of 8th century Bohemia and Premysl, a simple farmer.” Although Jerome has worked many times with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, which will perform the score, this score is the first collaboration between him and composer Benedikt Brydern.
